Geotechnical Investigation, Bunda–Ukerewe
Subsurface investigation across a wetland corridor for CNEEC, including site clearance and platform supply, ahead of infrastructure design.
Aquarian carried out geotechnical investigation along the Bunda–Ukerewe corridor for China National Electric Engineering Co. Ltd (CNEEC), to establish subsurface conditions ahead of infrastructure design and construction. The site itself had to be made workable before drilling could start: much of the corridor crosses wetland ground thick with vegetation and lake sediment, so Aquarian supplied and operated a watermaster to clear the drilling area before mobilising the investigation team.
Scope delivered
- Supply and operation of a watermaster to clear vegetation and sediment across the water drilling area
- Supply of a working platform for geotechnical soil investigation across the lake
- Borehole drilling across the investigation corridor
- Standard penetration testing at specified depths
- Soil and rock sampling
- Laboratory testing and analysis of material properties
- Geotechnical reporting with foundation recommendations
